Here is the latest build / creation I completed over the winter of 2012-2013.
This 1951 Mercury Pickup Truck was originally a Toronto Ontario truck owned by a company providing a Brick & Block Service to many locals in the area. (See advertisement on truck). Some time during the life of the truck it made its way to Western Canada (Saskatchewan) where it was found to be sitting in a field said to be the trucks resting place (RIP you old truck) you were destined to rot away.
A Classic Automobile Importer returned the truck back to Ontario where I found it for sale. I found it quite fitting to leave the truck with the original lettering and patina to show some history of the truck. Knowing that this classic pickup truck would need to have every nut & bolt, mechanical items replaced I started to dismantle the truck right down to the frame. When assembling the truck after the mechanical work was done I started to add to the theme of my build with the old cement mixer being fastened in the box along with some vintage tools used in the trade. For the comfort of driving this truck I have finished the interior to the restored original condition. The engine bay is very clean having a rebuilt flat head V8 mounted to the original 3 speed column shift.
I hope to be out enjoying some local car shows this summer and sharing some old time history with others.
I have to wonder, is the Brick & Block layer still around or has he shut things down as well.
