$39,900.00 – Sold
Perhaps, the only one known in existence today. This body on restoration of an 85000 mile from new woody special, is unique in every way. The country club accessory was available in 1947, and installed primarily by Chevrolet dealers. In this particular case, it was altered to fit this Oldsmobile, that shared the same body style as the Chev. It is very unlikely that there is an other the same anywhere. It even has the “Country Club” i.d. Plaque attached to the firewall.
Most of the chrome was re-plated, the red fabric interior, including headliner and carpet was refurbished in the original type material, and the entire trunk was redone as well. The car was repainted ebony black from the original grey. All rubber gaskets, doors, hood, trunk etc, were replaced with new.
Mechanically, it is a go anywhere car. The motor has less than 100 miles since rebuild, the hydramatic transmission works perfectly, and the wide white wall tires are in as new condition. Every gauge works, as well as, the original radio, and clock. All glass is intact, with no haze showing. There are some very minor chips in the windshield. The glass is the original duralite showing the factory markings on each piece.
There are many extras on this vehicle, and the following is a list.

- Interior sun visor clear plastic

On January 21st of last year at the r.m. Auction in Phoenix Arizona, a 1948 Chevrolet with the same body style as this Oldsmobile, was sold at auction, for a total sale price of $46,750.00. Chevrolet’s with this kit, were far more common. Please go to this site to review the auction result.
If you are after something very different, and never want to be seen at a cruise or club meet with a car that is the same as some one else is driving, then this is definitely the car you should consider.
