This 1947 Mercury Pickup Truck has had a complete restoration done in 2012-2013. It has the flat head V8 with an auto C-4 transmission. Danna 44 rear end.
This 1947 pick up truck has had some changes to the original spec’s when built by FORD back in the day.
Today the truck is finished with a 3 speed automatic transmission, yet we have left the flat head V-8 engine. When you drive this truck down the road it still feels like the older trucks would have, due to the suspension being original style. The truck has the look of a sixties hot rod which was often done to the trucks after they retired from the farm.
The green is the original body colour, although this was factory painted on the cab and box with black fenders and running boards.
We thought we would add some excitement to the truck by adding the cream colour to the cab and box,yet maintain the green fenders and running boards. The bed in the box has been finished in a quarter sawn oak with stainless steel strips to add a nice finish.
This truck is all metal body parts including the brand new tail gate. The cab is sporting the rear sliding window which was a factory option.
